Ice Hotel Honeymoon in Quebec, Canada
Located on a lakeshore
30 miles west of downtown Quebec, the Ice Hotel Canada is reconstructed
every winter out of 12,000 tons of snow and 400 tons of ice. Covering
30,000 square feet, the hotel features walls covered with original
artwork, a chapel, an Absolut vodka ice bar, a small theater, working
fireplaces and hot tubs, and heated bathrooms. Beds are built on a stand
of ice lit by fiber optic lights. The hotel offers a honeymoon package
that includes a dogsled ride and a four-course candlelit dinner, along
with other romantic touches. Read more about this and other ice hotels
on the Ice Hotel Honeymoon
overview page.

Here's just a sampling of the
activities offered at Ice Hotel Canada; check the hotel web site for
details (see link below):
-
Tour a winter wonderland:
The hotel offers a number of ways to get out and enjoy the winter
scenery, including a romantic hot air balloon ride (including
celebratory champagne), dogsledding tours (dogs, drivers, and
cold-weather gear provided), and day-long guided snowmobile tours
(including a picnic lunch). Or rent a snowmobile and strike out on
your own.
-
Play in snow and ice. Winter
activities at the hotel include cross-country skiing, ice fishing, or sledding down
a snow slide, among others.
-
Take in a show. The Canadian
ice hotel features a movie theater that accommodates up to 60
people!
-
Relax. Warm up in a hot tub
or sauna, or grab a bite to eat in the dining room—and, of course, you
have to have a drink at the ice bar.
-
Visit other area attractions.
Ice Hotel Canada is located just outside Quebec City; if you time
your visit right, you can catch the Quebec Winter Carnival.
According to reporter Ruth Hill of RudyMaxa.com, it's the world's
largest winter carnival and well worth the visit (see a link to her
report below). And of course Quebec's old quarter is famous for its
Old World ambience and historic attractions.
